As an accredited provider of continuing pharmacy education, the Harrison College of Pharmacy (hereinafter known as “HCOP”) agrees to enter into a joint providership agreement with the joint provider organization (hereinafter known as “JP”) to accredit and facilitate the awarding of continuing education credit.This "Joint Providership Agreement" will define the parameters of the cooperative relationship by delineating the roles and responsibilities of each party. HCOP and JP agree to the terms and conditions described below.

The purpose of the AUHCOP Postgraduate Education Committee is to address all issues related to outreach and continuing education. In accordance with current ACPE Standards, all postgraduate education offerings must be presented and approved by the Postgraduate Education Committee and its external advisory board(s). As a member of the planning and development of these programs, each member of the Postgraduate Education Committee must disclose any potential or actual conflict of interest that may relate to the scheduled programs.

Despite these responsibilities, incorrect inhaler use remains common, training significantly reduces these errors. Current guidelines emphasize that inhaler technique and adherence should be checked at every clinic visit, meaning nurses must be equipped to assess technique and support adherence.

This presentation will include the history of electronic cigarettes and discuss the rapid increase in use. Safety concerns and health risks of vaping will be discussed. The use of electronic cigarettes as a tool for quitting traditional smoking will be evaluated. This presentation will prepare pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to counsel patients who want to quit vaping.
