ALAHOPE Recorded Course - Maternal Child Health and Substance Use Disorder

Target Audience
This knowledge-based program is intended for Pharmacists (ACPE), Pharmacy Technicians (ACPE), Physicians (ACCME), Physician Assistants (ACCME), Nurse Practitioners (ACCME), Nurses (ABN), Social Workers (ABSWE), Dentists (BDEA), Optometrists (ABO), Podiatrists (ABP), and Attendance Credit/Certificate for Counselors, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists.
Learning Objectives
- Recall that women of reproductive age with substance use disorder have unique health needs and the best practices of care and treatment for them
- Recognize best treatment practices for managing infants born to mothers who have used opioids during pregnancy
- Repeat the common stigma issues around substance use during pregnancy
- Reproduce common stigma issues and evidence-based management strategies around neonatal opioid withdrawal syndrome (NOWS) and fetal alcohol syndrome (FASD)
