Acute Management of Acetaminophen Overdose

This presentation will be on the treatment of acetaminophen overdose and potential adjunct agents used in the treatment. In the near future, we are swapping to a two-bag N-N-cetylcysteine regimen so this presentation will help provide education to pharmacists on the data behind doing this.

This program has been planned for Baptist Health employees. An access code will be required.

Target Audience

This knowledge-based program is intended for pharmacists.  For this specific educational offering, the target audience will be employees of Baptist Health.

  • Identify clinical features and management of acetaminophen toxicity
  • Describe the safety and efficacy of a twelve-hour N-Acetylcysteine regimen
  • Discuss adjunct treatment to N-Acetylcysteine in patients with acetaminophen toxicity
