Target Audience

This program is intended for pharmacists (ACPE), pharmacy technicians (ACPE), physicians (ACCME), nurse practitioners (ANCC), dentists (AL board approval), dental hygienists(AL board approval), and nurses(AL board approval).  

 

Learning Objectives

Define the effects of ethnicity, class, gender, culture, sexual orientation, and disability in relation to the experience of a member of the          medical community working with populations from diverse backgrounds in a healthcare context.
Identify the importance of studying intragroups as well as intergroup differences and similarities.
Recognize the historical roots of different ethnic groups and their ability to effect mental and physical health outcomes.
Outline the importance of outreach and education with underserved populations to impact health outcomes.
