Immunization Overview

This presentation will provide a brief summary of currently recommended adult immunizations. General resources and vaccine information will be provided at the beginning of the presentation. However, majority of the presentation will focus on CDC vaccine recommendations for patients 19 years of age and older. The presentation will provide in depth information on vaccine schedules and contraindications for routinely recommended vaccines.

Target Audience

This knowledge-based course is intended for Pharmacists within the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System. An access code is required to enroll in this program. 

Learning Objectives

1. Identify appropriate resources for vaccine recommendations.
2. Apply current CDC recommendations to provide patient specific vaccine recommendations.
3. Discuss the current data surrounding COVID-19 vaccines.

Dr. Sara Tyler grew up just north of Montgomery in Wetumpka, AL. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences at Troy University and graduated with a Pharm.D. from Auburn University Harrison College of Pharmacy in 2022. Her current clinical interests are ambulatory care with an emphasis in diabetes and cardiology. Upon the completion of her PGY1 residency, Sara plans to pursue a PGY2 residency in ambulatory care. Some of Sara’s hobbies include reading, hiking, traveling, and finding new restaurants.
