Let's Talk About Lipids - Kristi Kelley
Princeton Baptist Medical Center’s internal medicine resident clinic cares for many patients who have utilized lipid management medications for extended periods or have recently initiated these. One typically thinks of statin therapy to decrease cholesterol levels. However, while they may not be seen often, there are many alternatives or add-on agents that can assist patients in reaching their goals.
The internal medicine resident clinic team consists of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and social workers. Each member of the healthcare team works together to optimize the health and wellbeing of each patient. The purpose of this presentation includes educating the healthcare team on the most recent cholesterol management guidelines and agents for use. The most common adverse effects, major drug interactions, and special populations will also be discussed for each product.
