Pharmacist Role in Thyroid Management
The value of a pharmacist can be emphasized with the patient care that can be provided to patients with hypothyroidism and the management of their medications and disease state.
This knowledge-based course is intended for Pharmacists.
1. Interpret diagnostic and/or laboratory tests in patients with hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism
2. Determine the most appropriate pharmacotherapy and monitoring in patients with thyroid disease
3. Identify and develop management plans for common drug interactions and adverse drug reactions experienced by patients treated for thyroid disorders
Jaycee Mandernach is currently a pharmacy resident at the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System. She completed her undergrad at The University of Iowa with a B.S. in human physiology in 2017 and attended pharmacy school at The University of Iowa College of Pharmacy.
