Recorded Fostering Inclusive Excellence in Pharmacy Preceptorship
This session will explore the impact of legislative changes and accreditation standards on inclusive excellence initiatives in pharmacy education. Participants will learn about the importance of cultural competence, the challenges to achieving inclusive excellence, and the benefits of inclusive practices. Discover best practices for preceptors to promote an inclusive and equitable learning environment in both classroom and clinical settings.

Tanja Redd, MBA, Ph.D. serves as the Academic Program Coordinator for the Harrison College of Pharmacy's Office of Alumni and Professional Affairs. The Office of Alumni and Professional Affairs oversees the marketing, registration, and implementation of all continuing education programs for practitioner license requirements as well as the program standards and accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education.
Dr. Redd completed her bachelor's degree from Auburn University and received her MBA with a concentration in Human Resource Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management. She previously worked for JP Morgan in New York, New York and Atlanta, Georgia. She returned to Auburn in 2005 and has held positions in Alumni Affairs as a Program Coordinator and as well as in University Outreach with the Center for Educational Outreach and Engagement. Dr. Redd earned a certificate in College and University Teaching in 2020 and recently completed a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the College of Education at Auburn.
Dr. Redd presented “Model Standards for Pre-College Program Divisions” at the Pre-College Programming Workshop of the Engagement Scholarship Consortium. She has also participated in numerous panels speaking on topics of diversity and resiliency. Redd previously received the Employee of the Month (April) award from Auburn. At the Harrison College of Pharmacy, she serves on several college-wide committees including the DEI Council and works with the APAA’s Black Alumni Council. Across the university, Redd serves in leadership positions with the Auburn Black Caucus and on several University committees.
Dr. Redd is married to Auburn alumnus Kelvin Redd ’90, and they have four children who are graduates of the University of North Carolina, University of Alabama, Auburn University, and the University of South Carolina. Dr. Redd loves to travel and attend sporting events, especially Auburn football and basketball.
Auburn University is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education; credits are recognized nationwide. The Universal Activity Number for this knowledge-based program is 0001-0000-24-037-H99-P and is intended for pharmacists. The initial release date for this home-study program is September 11, 2024 and the intended expiration date is September 11, 2027.
