This presentation will provide an update on the management of sleep disorders, specifically insomnia and narcolepsy. Sleep disorders have bi-directional relationships with many other co-occuring conditions; they may both impact and be impacted by these co-occuring conditions and related pharmacotherapy. Management approaches are limited overall, and become more limited when considering certain patient specific variables.

Princeton Baptist Medical Center’s internal medicine resident clinic provides comprehensive primary care for a patient population often presenting with cardiovascular conditions including hypertension, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, and heart failure. As of 2022, guidelines were released by the American Heart Association to provide comprehensive treatment recommendations specifically for HFpEF (heart failure with preserved ejection fraction) in addition to the previously better known subset of heart failure known as HFrEF (heart failure with reduced ejection fraction).
