Attendees will learn how to connect data with policy, culture, and accountability to identify true risk, avoid false conclusions, and strengthen diversion prevention programs. Practical examples will illustrate how pharmacists can use context to improve decision-making, support frontline teams, and build sustainable, high-reliability diversion oversight.

Linda Gordon is a nationally recognized pharmacy leader with nearly 35 years of experience across retail, outpatient, inpatient, and system-level pharmacy operations. She currently serves as System Director of Diversion Prevention, where she leads enterprise-wide controlled substance governance, surveillance, and risk mitigation across a large, multi-hospital healthcare system. Her work includes development of policies and procedures, implementation of analytics-driven monitoring platforms, investigation and response workflows, education and training initiatives, and alignment with DEA, Joint Commission, ASHP, and state board requirements. She is particularly known for translating regulatory expectations into practical, sustainable operational processes. Linda has extensive experience building multidisciplinary diversion prevention committees, coaching leaders through complex investigations, and using data visualization and benchmarking to drive accountability and continuous improvement. She has also served as a mentor and informal consultant to other healthcare systems developing or maturing their diversion programs. She is a Diplomate of the ASHP Pharmacy Leadership Academy and remains actively engaged in national professional organizations, including ASHP, IHFDA, NADDI, and Vizient. Linda frequently presents on diversion prevention strategy, high-reliability practices, and system-level governance, and is passionate about fostering a culture of safety, transparency, and human connection in healthcare.
